Waterproofing and painting of swimming pools PREFACE
When it comes to waterproofing swimming pools, a constant hydrostatic pressure combined with a rigid and porous concrete laying serious challenges for effective and sustainable.
Any water containing water and support structures must meet the strictest specifications from design to design and finally the project.
THE CONCRETE

ADDITIVES WATER RESIST
The first movement of success is to use a PCE superplasticizer. This should reduce the size, number and continuity of pores.
We in MACON, usually use pore blockers such as silica fume. We also use a hydrophobic material to line the pores of the concrete and therefore reduce the capillary absorption by altering the intermolecular forces in the concrete system - air - water .
LEVELING MORTAR
Depending on the fineness of the concrete substrate with a layer of mortar, leveling should be used.
Typically, these leveling mortars are very thin (less than 6 mm thick). To strengthen and increase their membership, we use SBR LATEX.
The formula we use:
Portland cement: 1 piece
Paul Moist, Sharp sand: 3 parts
Latex: 0.2 to 0.25 parts
Clean water: the need for consistency desired.
Joints
All furniture joints not, such as new concrete age, floor to wall joints, gaskets casting interruption must be preventively sealed with bentonite waterproofing QUELLMAX. The same is valid for all penetrations through the walls.

WATERPROOFING OPTIONS
A. final layer: Ceramic tiles
A1. Tightness can be made with an ingredient of cement based products. In this case, the suspension should be measured at least 25kg 2Kg/sac dispersion of polymer (SBR latex or styrene acrylic or polyacrylate).
An SBR latex is an excellent work:
- Improving the adhesion of the waterproofing layer.
- Help hardening process because it greatly increases the water retention of the fresh layer.
- Strengthen the bending strength and durability.
A2. For me, much more preferable and safe point of sealing is the use of flexible, two component, flexible cementitious products.
Flexible systems can - unarmed - cracks bridge 1.5-2mm. An appropriate enhancement can further improve this performance impressive.
