Guitar Tabs Equals Paint by numbers Guitar Tabs Equals Paint by numbers
I am surprised that the use of the system on the tab to play guitar has never, that I know anyway, been likened to painting by numbers. So it's good for the amateur and garage band hack, it has been brought increasingly into the real world of music. Some of you may remember all polls tad and wavy lines, keys, staff and bars, Italian words as legato, staccato and all those other ato. They were very good for us and with the teacher the right (which is increasingly difficult to find, but that's another article), they even have fun. It seems to me that this wonderful teaching tool called tablature has been mistreated in this instant gratification world that now seems to exist. Not to mention the spit in the face of Segovia, Chet Atkins, Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, Tal Farlow, BB King, Eric Clapton, I made my point yet. Tab pirates can not be compared with us, the real musicians.
It is our responsibility as teachers to not give in to pressure to play the guitar an easy instrument to this question. The guitar and the piano became the most abused of these systems because of the digital design and motifs of the instrument. true professionals should be insulted by the outbreak of infection in our business so clumsy players trained in ancient times would have been confined to playing only at family gatherings and high-summer festivals, the School of drunken teenagers sentenced to beer and weed. It does not mean that it is not pleasant for them to play that way. I'll even give them an opportunity a "cute." Heck, I was informed by the parents well-intentioned but uninformed "let them play and have fun, they do not need to learn the theory." Personally, I think it is great that some learn and play that way, as long as you confine it to the old Aunt Bessie and grandmother, or even buckets of blood in the Keys, but hey do you have with us. You're not. If you can not read music, know little about the theory, then you're not a musician.
I am not trying to be harsh here, I'm only trying to protect the job I struggled to develop both playing and teaching in particular. I found that those who do not care or are simply lazy simply not learn faster, with or without legs. The real tragedies are those that just care or care in a row and then it's harder to learn the theory. You go that easy paint by numbers format and learning cool songs like Sweet Home Alabama, "Smoke on the Water to Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. Yes, it will work. Guess what? You just ruined what could have become a good musician, amateur or not, and the waste of money in all the lessons so far. Not to mention the cost of the instrument collection of dust, by the way, is not a good line of clothing such as exercise equipment. More importantly, you gave another blow to the true craftsmen, the musician.
Please do not succumb to this practice, hiring a true professional with a lot of great references and pay the extra bucks, it's worth it.
