9 year old daughter - do not go with the pink! :) My husband and I painted my daughter's room pink and green. We painted the furniture too - it was adorable! Now she is 12 and has decided she hates pink! So we have to repaint EVERYTHING! ARGH! :)

Good luck! :)

I like stripes in the rooms, especially for girls. Choose a few bands of colors of the quilt and do. The toddler is easy, no decorations (stickers, borders .. low spot) on the wall so that the little guys can see them.

Depends on where you live, you can go to Lowes or Home Depot in the painting session with your children. They have these beautiful pictures and ideas for children's rooms, and the little booklet tells you the paint you need and even accessories. My suggestion is that you can go with your children and ask them to select how they would like their rooms look like, and that way you're also teaching them that they can take some desicions and after you have to live with the decision you made. Even the painting of your child's room as you teach them life lessons. Good Luck!

you know, at that age I always wanted a theme room ... all my friends had themed rooms ... you know like sports or animals ... Im a boy to make more since to me ... but for a girl, I think it would be simply what it is for.

I also saw something on television a few months ago that I thought was a good idea ... a couple was renovating a playroom for their two children ... and they were involved in doing some finger painting along one wall. .. i seems tacky, but it turned out real nice ... just a thought! success

I decided not to go with a theme for the girls room because it will soon be a teenager and themes fade in and out but I agree with the only person above me not pink!

You can go to Better Homes & Gardens website. I think it www.bhg.com. They have a section on decorating, you can even try different colors of paint and reserve a room. In addition, www.sherwin-williams.com. Click the Owner, then launch viewer color. You can see how different colors of paint will look.

for the boy to paint the room blue and cars as a theme and this could be the border

and the girl I would choose a candy store on the theme of fishing room and paint and candy paint and jars of jelly and lollie pops
