Tiffany and Co Jewellery Life Tiffany & Company in 1837 as Tiffany & Young, named after founder Charles Tiffany and John Young. Initially, the store was located at 259 Broadway in New York and treated stationery and fine products. Tiffany & Young was an innovative (for its time) the policy to give each item a price tag and no negotiation on price. That same year, Tiffany introduced the box in the shadow of the distinctive blue come to be known as "Tiffany blue." Charles Tiffany took over the company in 1853 and renamed Tiffany & Co. During This time, Tiffany was known for its fine silver and even won awards for the quality of his plate. However, the portion of the jewelry business has been gathering steam.

Tiffany Diamonds
The company soon developed many of Tiffany jewelry, including diamonds. In 1878, Charles Tiffany bought the Tiffany Diamond, one of the largest yellow diamonds and the best the world has ever seen. The original stone has been reduced to 128.51 carats with 90 facets. The diamond is displayed on our Tiffany jewelry store that day, so that customers can enjoy Tiffany's unique beauty. Shortly after, the company introduced an innovative framework diamond ring that has been copied worldwide. Instead of setting the diamond in the band, Tiffany used six pins to raise the diamond off the tape. This shows the diamond the better off and allowed it to capture more light. In 1887, Charles Tiffany got some of the crown jewels which had belonged to French royalty, which earned him the nickname "King of Diamonds.

Changing of the Guard
In 1902 Charles Tiffany's Son Louis Comfort Tiffany and Co opened a department of art jewelry in the company to create innovative, artistic design of jewelry and later became artistic director of the firm to the death of his father. With Louis at the helm, the company continued to prosper and make a name for itself.

Expansion
In 1940, Tiffany & Co. moved to its famous building on 57th Street in New York, where he remains to this day. It was not until 1963 that Tiffany ventured outside of New York and opened a store in San Francisco. In 1972, the company opened its first international school in Japan and in 1986 established a European presence with its London store.
