Im thinking of black paint that'll work or what you suggest. no spray I have no control Vental in my basement to spray ... nothing

Yes, use acrylic paint, although I prefer the blue on a black background. Never use water paint because it peels off easily especially in wet / damp, as if our tanks are. Use a brush to apply and temporarily shut off your air pump (if you have one), while painting it ..
