Bangalore to Ooty - Road Trip When you travel from Bangalore to Ooty by road, there are many
Things to do on the road.
The road from Bangalore to Ooty passes by Ramnagar, channapatna,
Maddur, Mandya, Srirangapatna, Mysore, najungad, gundelpet, Bandipur
Mudumalai Ooty.
Bangalore to Mysore
Bangalore to Mysore road is real good right temple Rajarajeshwari
bow and four traffic lanes capable of 100 km / h and excess. Be careful
sudden traffic diversions due to bridge and road painting works.
Also of pedestrians.
Take a coffee break at 24 days hour coffee shop (after channapatna - 70 km
Bangalore) and Kamat (after ramnagaram - 50 km from Bangalore). You
Amaravathi try before Mandya or Maddur Tiffanys. Other restaurants
not worth their salt (or sugar)
After Channapatna you can stop at Dodda Malur Krishna temple, a
very old temple with a deity of lord baby Krishna. Many people believe
that your prayers for a baby come true at this temple.
Srirangapatna has few points of interest such as Fort overlooking the river,
bird sanctuary near ranganathitu.
If you dig pizzas, you can stop at pizza corner, Mysore, which is about
Ooty by road.
Mysore to Ooty
Nanjungad to Gundelpet is a road straight and smooth, without traffic.
Easy to maintain more than 100 km / h. Beware of sudden speed breakers
and bumpy bridges.
Nanjungad Shiva temple has a very old and famous with many statues
gods.
At gundelpet, take the road to Ooty.
Gundelpet to Bandipur is very bad part Raod. Bandipur in
Tamilnadu border is also bad stretch.
Drive slowly (30 to 40 km / h) you have the chance to see animals
grazing on the roadside during the evening. If you see elephants on
side of the road, stop at a distance and observe them carefully. No
horn or bright lights. (Kind easiset irritate the elephants) By
their movements, it is easy to findout if they are as grazing or
trying to cross the road. If elephants are in group, no problems.
Beware of single elephant (especially Tusker - male elephants). They
tend to easily irritated it is their mating season. Other
animals like deer, mongoose, peacocks are harmless. Do not feed
monkeys as they tend to jump in the car. Monkey scratches and bites
need anti rabies vaccine cons. Just before the border checkpoints TN-Kar,
Many people have seen tigers near the roads, but I have not had any luck
see a tiger so far.
From TN border (police tend to abandon the family cars - guys driven
Vehicles are checked for alcohol and other illegal things, there is a
toll on the TN side), the roads are good, but keeping only 30-40
mph
At the junction theppakadu (Mudumalai forest office) you have 2
choice to go to Ooty. The right leads you through Gudalur Ooty
naduvattam, Pykarra falls, seventh mile in Ooty. The left takes you
Masinagudi by the water falls kallahatty Ooty. Both roads are
scenic and have great views. Gudalur road is easy to drive and
heavy vehicles prefer this road. The road needs a power masinagudi
direction, as there are hairpin turns 35 in a stretch of 15 km and the road
is very steep. Your vehicle must be in perfect condition to fight against
route. Just after Masinagudi there is a point where a leopard
crossing the road.
