Things have changed for the Oakland Raiders players. Art Shell the first practice of training camp showed things will be different for representatives Raiders this season. At the end of practice the first 12 players running around the field as punishment for penalties, among them: Rashad Moore and Randy Moss.

LaMont Jordan said Shell standards must be met and if the players do not get to do, they will not be there. Among the new settings, they must answer are: reducing penalties, reduce errors and to play football sensitive.

With these new restrictions Shell claimed for the sprints for players jumping offsides or committing false starts and drilling wells to bring the macho toughness that he hopes to inspire the team.

The Oakland Raiders led the NFL with 147 violations last year, often putting the offense in a hole or keeping the defense on the field for additional parts. Shell said he can live with penalties of aggression, but he can not deal with pre-snap penalties negligence which are usually a matter of concentration.

After losing three straight seasons, the Raiders have welcomed the approach of the old school. Oakland has won only 13 games in three years under Bill Callahan and Turner since going to the Super Bowl after the 2002 season.

Al Davis, who came aboard in 1963 to coach and eventually own the team brought back Art Shell, his coach 1989-94 to bring the Oakland Raiders to their glory days. Shell is part of the Hall of Fame.
