What is the best way to spray paint your own plate PSP? This concerns not only the PSP, but many electronic devices with a smooth shiny surface.
Can I use spray paint stencil on the body, then cover with another layer transparent the paint spray or something to that color is permanent and not fade away?
In simple terms, what I can paint my PSP, then cover with a clear coat that would lock that color? And if so, what kind of spray paint would I need? Thank you
Yes you can, simply insert the cap ...
Sand everything with 800 grit sandpaper (gives a nice surface for the paint to stick to)
scrub everything down, rubber gloves, with denatured alcohol (cleans the surface) you can get at any home improvement store in the painting section.
paint with a gray primer (Krylon or other) ... keep your coats light and keep the box about 8 inches apart. Do not worry about covering the whole thing in one layer.
then spray any color spray paint. I usually paint with color flat when I cover a clear coat, because the clear glue to the flat of better quality. And it will eventually clear the end anyway.
then follow with a clear spray (Krylon or something new, can choose glossy or Satan)
If the finish is not perfect when your done, you can buff with polishing compound, by visiting car. a damp cloth, dip it into the enclosure, then rub the piece with a slight pressure. Wipe off excess paste with a clean dry cloth before it dries.
Re-install the electronics cover.
Can you? Yes. But out of the electronics first.
Or just use decals.
