Paint Roller CleanerIs there a better way to clean a paint roller?

Cleaning the paint on the roller under the tap or in a bucket simply takes ages. What the professionals do - use a new roll every time?

As a professional interior designer, I'll tell you what we do. Contry to what I read, we do not discard. Implications. Scrape off excess paint roller with a scraper own. then wash in cold water. With oil-based paint brushes buy a brush to "keep" allowing you to keep your brushes in the paint without having to clean turpentine. - Inside the brush keep is a section where a piece of card is soaked in solvent vapors to keep the hair moist. remarkable invention!

To all of you for cleaning rollers YOUR .... I found Roller Cleaner Ez a video on Google Video which works very well. You get to clean the roll itself and it is really nice. In addition there is more paint roller cleaners on Youtube videos. THIS IS THE WAY TO GO .... No More ..... throw Flag

There is a site now for (ezrollercleaner.com) and you can see for yourself a great way to completely clean your paint roller (the water-based paints) ... it works, you get to do and other than getting a few sprinkles of water, you control how you want to clean your roller. It's great! Report Abuse

I use one of these "roller cleaner dandy. It attaches to your drill, dip the roller into a bucket of water, then rotate the roller with your drill in a cardboard box.

Takes about 2 minutes to have the paint on the roller to be clean and dry. Also works on brushes, oil paint and water based.

For cleaning, it is useful to begin by dipping the roller into a bucket or something, you can use your hands to remove the majority of the painting. You have to rinse with tap water to make it completely clean for storage.

Q. Good. I guess the pro sling em, I certainly would in this situation.
I find soaking in a sink full of warm water under the tap before speeds ING mind numbingly tedious process up!

I had never roller cheapish head so that I can just throw them away but then again I prefer using a brush, they are easier to clean and do not waste paint into the roller tray.

I always use a little dishwashing liquid and rub it in before running it under the tap and rinse not really sure what is different to using only water, but is still clean enough

If the emulsion off the roll I put a few drops of dishwashing liquid under the tap and press the roller until all paint is lacquer removed. With using white spirits in a bucket and squeeze paint on you might need to do a little times.Once painting is removed with water washing up liquid and warm just get the last things to paint, though.

I'm not a pro can not say what they do, but I throw rolls away when I finished painting of that color. Cleaning takes them a long time and they never seem quite the same thing. It takes a lot of water, and I do not have much that the paint go in my septic tank. It might be a bit unnecessary, but I think that for most of the painting, the cost of the roll is a very small part of the.
