Fundamentals of Lighting Booth Spraying: Choose the right lighting A paint booth consists of several essential elements that contribute to normal operation. To keep contaminants and dust, the cabin is kept closed with airtight doors while allowing the inward movement of goods and outdoors. The spray paint air inside the cabin, due to its construction under pressure, allowing air to be exhausted by forced through the filters. This spray inside the spray booth is flammable and combustible.
Naturally, given the flammable conditions inside a paint booth, the design of efficient lighting would require several parameters to keep in mind.
General lighting paint booth should attend the following key: -
Illumination of the surrounding
Hazards and safety control
Easy care and maintenance, and finally
Energy
The adequacy of the lighting is of particular interest in an automotive paint booth because of the size and complexity in the design of modern automobiles. The three important aspects to consider are the light intensity individual and their number and their location and emphasis on the work area leaving no shadow.
Hazards in a paint booth arise from the combustible nature of the aerosol. The use of electronic ballasts, reflectors and mirrors high output extended life phosphors (PEL) and safely lighting by class and division must be ensured. The apparatus for fluorescent lighting should be within the recessed panels inside the paint booth. They should be water resistant to corrosion and are Class I and Division 2 standards. If they are not recessed into the panels, they must meet Class I and Division 1 standards. There should be a locking arrangement to clear and terminate the function of spraying when the access panel to light is opened for routine maintenance and service of either the light or ballast.
There should have easy access to lamp and ballast in order of their regular maintenance and servicing. Since the lens fogged to get a painting activity underway, it might be a good idea to use easily replaceable adhesive film to cover them. Energy consumption is fairly easy to resolve by an appropriate choice of lamp and ballast.
