Outdoor Furniture Paint Job

My son used acrylic craft paint to decorate a birdhouse cedar wood for his father for Father's Day. It turned out really cute and I need help knowing how to seal the box that we will be able to hang outside for birds to, hopefully, use.

I used wood coating Thompson wooden furniture outdoors, but must be repeated each year. So, I am concerned that special sealant will fade and ruin the paint job over time.

Poly I have is for indoor use. Are there any poly that works for outdoor use that do a good job of preserving my son paint job and the test of time outdoors, too?

I recommend you go to your local paint store. They will help you get the right product for this project. Let them know about the issue WaterSeal Thompson and they can take you for a better product.
