(PITTSBURGH - September 12, 2005) The Art Institutes announced today that it will assist both international and domestic students from the universities of New Orleans, southern Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama universities, which were closed in the foreseeable future because of the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina.
The Art Institutes will make available on campus and online courses that might be able to allow displaced students to advance their academic careers during this semester of disruption. Students at a university forced to close by Hurricane Katrina can enroll in one of Art Institutes 31 locations across the country for courses on a space available for the fall semester.
The Art Institutes waive tuition for displaced students who have already registered and paid tuition at their home institution for Fall 2005. If dislocated students have not yet paid their tuition at their home institution, they will be valued at the lower of published tuition and fees at home institution, or institutions of art 'published Tuition and fees for the fall semester, as determined by the President of the School.
"The Art Institutes strives to help students who have been affected by Hurricane Katrina," said Dave Pauldine, president of the Art Institutes. "The Art Institutes offers this as a way to reach students in the region of the Gulf Coast whose lives and education have been affected by Hurricane Katrina and do what we can to help these students. "
