What do you think the author is trying to say in the second paragraph that starts with taking "land old ..?" The New Colossus
By Emma Lazarus
Written in 1883
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With the conquest of members horse land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A woman with a powerful torch, whose flame
Is lightining imprisoned, and his name
Mother od Exiles. From its flagship opportunity
Glows worldwide welcome, her mild eyes command
The theat air bridged harbor twin cities frame.
"Keep, ancient lands, your pump floors!" She cries
with silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send theres, the homeless, tempest-jerk to me
I lift my lamp beside the golden door. "

After that, the author wants the poor, tired, unhappy immigrants to the United States (powerful woman with the torch the Statue of Liberty), where they are welcomed and free .... meaningless the Statue of Liberty crying to the unfortunate inhabitants of the world famous and ancient land
Colossus is a Greek mythological creature, he was a giant
powerful lady with the torch the Statue of Liberty,
im not going to copy paste, but include a picture of the Statue of Liberty and immigrant-shouldn't be difficult to find
