How to spray paint a gun? So, I camo my gun with Krylon Camo spray that I had and I was wondering what parts I'm out of band
I have a business side line that specializes in custom paint jobs done camouflage and we have many items of 22 and 24 foot river boats, cars, trucks, canoes and kayaks, trailers, guns and arcs and related equipment all the way up to and including a house 22 feet motor. We painted a number of new rifles and used (abused?) And shotguns for sporting goods stores and individuals. We always start with a thorough wipe down with paint thinner to remove any traces of oil or other solvents. Then, off the strip before the two ends of the scope by attaching to the surface of outer ring band, but do not bend over. Just make sure you have tightened up. Then remove the bolt and fill the room now empty and void magazine with a paper towel. Press another piece of tape over the muzzle. If you prepared the gun before you plugged and sealed off, you're ready to start painting. For best results, dust from one color to another without creating hard edges. then use silk plants or real leaves to make stencils around which you can sprinkle with black matte to create some great shadow effects. Good luck.
Use DuraCoat products ... I refinished my rifle Marlin Camp 9 SS with excellent results. Do not use spray paint at low prices. This will not work. DuraCoat has all kinds of colors and kits Patten finishing fast and easy. I made my camp 9 in two days with 3 colors. Enjoy.
Make sure you tape the two ends of the scope.
Good luck.
