What bank in the United Kingdom of the building society / is best for us on pension credit with a good balance? Need debit card / checkbook! I had two sales calls in two days who need debit cards to get good deals available
Neither sales rep could tell me if there is a bank of UK building society / folk music with which to appreciate the business sense to refuse loans / credit cards!
And grant us safety / dignity of the debit card / checkbook!

We're both martial arts and trained to fight any robbers / burglars to death: theirs, not ours!
But this is not exactly in dignity to force men over 60 at risk for cash to avoid tax as proposed £ 10 bankers

Do not close an existing account until you know that your new bank has accepted your request. I would recommend Alliance and Leicester to have a current account that pays interest on credit balances and convenience. You can use their branches or post offices to pay and withdraw money.
Cahoot, a bank owned by Abbey Internet, pay both the credits and the money can be withdrawn and paid to mail or by mail.
Both banks offer a debit card and checkbook, but how is not automatic.
I suggest you also look at Moneysupermarket.com.
I do not trust or like banks / banking system. I only use cash.
the Girobank / Alliance & Leicester / supply station such accounts, but to find a post office and queuing for hours in fact a no-go.
most banks (HSBC / Barclays / Lloyds TSB and Halifax for some) offer basic accounts for people who want to pay and withdraw cash and include a credit card / debit card. They also offer checkbooks, but like most places do not accept them now, there is not much
I bank with HSBC and has never had a loan and they bombard me with offers or let them know that you do not want to offer when you sign up with them.
Love the idea of pensioner bouncers escorting each other to pay cash for things, but the bank is easy and no banks have gone bankrupt since 1970! if your money is safer under the mattress or tea!
