Flower Oil PaintingOil or acrylic painting of flowers?

I want to paint a flower for Mother's Day and I dont know if it will work as good as oil acrylic paint I use. Here are the pictures that I think of:

Firstly, if you will paint a picture make it the first. There are too many blacks in the second. Matte black paint tends to all other colors, if you need to mix black colors. It is not easy.

I would like to use acrylic, personally. I find it easier to use if you make mistakes, you can just paint over it. But just use what you have as much experience with or feel comfortable with should

Good luck.

As a reference photo I prefer the second because it is not as good with the distortion of depth of field. Remember when you work from photographs that the color tends to "flatten" the taking of the brightest highlights and darkest shadows, so the color changes to green. I would like to use the flower to the initial sketch. Personally, I would make all the shadows and light areas using a thin layer of oil is washed with turpenoid Viridian. Once you have the image as you want on the canvas, start painting in glazes using oils mixed with a carrier - I use Liquin. The background appears black, but it's just because of the camera up to the light. I want to pass the background more dark greens and violets and orange blossom call red and yellow. You can also change the color totally use your photo as a reference, or better yet, use a real color for Lily - they were actually much more subtle quarter tones that show a photograph.

acrylic or both

I first used with acrylic paint. It is easier to correct mistakes that oil painting, but it is easier to show more detail in my personal opinion.

Whatever you decide to paint, acrylic can be just as good, but if you use paint mostly with oils you can use retarder to slow drying time of acrylic.
