Is a flat white paint to be used as a primer to cover a wall of dark color in bathroom? After im done im planning to use a kitchen and bath semi-gloss paint. It's just that I was a little flat white paint that was given to me or should I just go out and buy some primer kiltz. I wanted to save money.
Firstly, preparation of bathroom walls. Give them a good wash with water to remove any soap residue or loose particles. preparedness.
Then throw in a little water (I'm assuming it is you are talking about latex) 1 cup per gallon for a bit thin so it is more like a primer. Then give it a thin layer of paint. Remember, it is the beginning it does not cover color in a layer - the additional water is simply to dry more quickly (and difficult) to paint right out of the box and it is more easy to brush and give the same coverage.
After it dries (and night), look for areas that "color in coloring is through" - if it does.
If this occurs, you need Kilzer and spray the purge thru.
Kilzer gives a glass like coating on the spot. No more bleed through.
Let dry 1 / 2 hour, then you can put on a coat of satin paint.
Do not rush. The drying time is important.
If you're in a hurry and everything must be done today - thinking DO NOT PAINT.
Rushing it will cause shivelling, peeling, and other problems.
no ... Certainly not!
no paint flat .... it must be primary. Sorry
Be blessed
You can do it, but just make it more difficult. You will be ahead of the money using a good introduction. Go to your nearest store ICI paints a good recommendation.
Of course you can, but the darker color will bleed through. It may take 2-3 coaqts. Make sure you have a latex paint on you (color] old. If it is oil, then you will need kiltz Sealer or Zin. And be sure to damage the finish if it is a former semi-gloss or gloss. A liquid sander works well before putting the paint on. Enjoy
Yes but it will take more paint to cover the black paint, then, if you were to use real signs that is gray, I would stay with the bait.
Use primer ..... Flat White will not do much to a dark wall ...... unless you do five or more layers. waste of time ... forsure get the boot
you have too much sand the walls first, then wipe the walls with a damp cloth to get dust off excess. Then you can apply two coats of white paint your apartment as indicated.
You can do it, but it is certainly not practical. For it will take more work and money than buying a gallon of primer and do it once.
Unfortunately cannot regular flat latex paint is used as bait. go to your local Lowes and pick up a primer made by concealing important American tradition, this will be the best product to use
