paint exterior colors What to do with bricks and whitewashed - Specifically strands (black) and the door (red)? We have an old colonial (built 1920), with a brick exterior lime. We are looking to paint the shutters and door. Currently, they are royal blue, but we think of classic red shutters and black door. Any suggestions on which Benjamin Moore colors would go well?
play with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to help you imagine how the colors will look together. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, in my humble opinion. I like how their color palette is set, I like that you can search by color family and color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating plans color. You can literally spend hours:

I think "Red Bay" (# 6321) could be an excellent choice for the door and "Domino" (6989) for the components.
You can take a photo of your house and transfer it to the makeover gallery on this site:

You can get ideas for colors and $ 5 they'll photoshop them onto your room so you can get an idea of what it will look like.
red and black components of the door are great!
