Home exterior paint color advice? Prob. will not get til the next season at this point, but I'm still deciding what color to paint my front door, trim, foundation (below left where siding off) and steps, windows and shutters (I don 't are not yet). The house has vinyl siding is light gray / blue. This does not change, at least for the moment. The roof is black. The house is a typical modest Rambler 1950, 880 FS. I can not find a picture of the thing right now, so that information should help. Here is a picture showing the basic colors that are there today: http://sprig5.livejournal.com/85750.html
I want something tasteful, but colorful, cheerful. Ideally, I would have liked the siding to a warm yellow, but muted, beige or coastal fishing, I suppose. I do not want the colors of light for a trim gray siding well. Thoughts?
I would use Sherwin Williams color "Sundance" and "unique". Both are shades of yellow, a little lighter than the other. I use exclusively on the door and shutters and baseboards, and Sundance on the gutters and trim, window frames, &. It would really brighten up the house a lot, I think.

If you just want to paint the door and the moment when I paint the white trim and paint the front door is a blue or red brick.
With the color of your floor and looking at the pictures, have you thought about the possibility of a lavender / blue, with white versions? With a couple of pots of bright red flowers, the contrast is fantastic and always brings to mind a beautiful sunny day?
That is a tradtional, Mediterranean-style look, but with red, white and blue, it could not be more patritoic and really too bright and cheerful.
