How Roman art and architecture influenced medieval Christian art and architecture?

All I could find is that they have used the Romans' style of mural painting. Is there anything else?

Arches, frescoes and Roman pillars cathedrals used .. Corinthian ..
It has been long since I took art history, but I cathedrals have been strongly influenced by Roman art and architecture.Compare the Parthenon in some cathedrals.
