Ceiling Paint Color

Ceiling Paint ColorWhat color paint the ceiling of the dining room (red walls)?

I plan to paint my dining room a bright red with a shade slightly warm. I wonder what color to paint the ceiling. My plate around ceilings, windows and baseboards are made of oak. Hardwood floors. I think white would be ridiculous. Connecting rooms are the kitchen, where the walls are a sort of orange sherbet color of light, and the room where the walls will be a cappuccino color. Any suggestions for dining room ceiling color?

I have a client who loves red, the dining room was done in a very dynamic version of red raspberry, and in some of its other parts (chambers), she used a lot of red fabric to decorate. For her red room believe it or not, we used a very dusty blue-green. This treatment is fabulous and very traditional red bedroom ceiling wall.

Contrary to popular belief, the paint a ceiling will not make your room look smaller. When the room seems smaller as a result of painting the ceiling, because the choice of colors is not optimized for the color of the walls. In short, the concept was correct, but the application was flawed. What make a room appear smaller is the contrast. Paint your ceiling white would indeed breathtaking red and decrease your room. Red is in itself a medium to dark medium ... there is no such thing as a red light. If you take ab photo w / a red room you easily see that red is on the darker side, so choose something softer that will complement your color. Your eye is very weak when it comes to see the color, in fact, we are able to see a better contrast because of our physiology. When your eye is presented with rich colors and contrast at the same time, your eyes will see the first contrast and your ability to see the color will be decreased. To get the most out of your try this red Ben Moore, Imperial Gray, # 1571. Use a flat paint finish, do not be put off by the name, it's a nice soft color and I used it several times in situations like yours.

play with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, in my humble opinion. I like how their color palette is set, I like that you can search by color family and color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating plans color. You can literally spend hours:

I think "shadow khaki" (# 7533) would be fine.

You can also take a photo of your house and transfer it to the makeover gallery on this site:

You can get ideas for colors and $ 5 they'll photoshop them onto your room so you can get an idea of what it will look like.

It is a great choice of colors! I'm doing something similar for my kitchen. Painting two or four walls a deep cranberry color with a neutral free. Given that your use of such a strong color, it is preferable that you use a light color for your ceiling as a light color is showing the higher ceiling, as opposed to darkness, making it appear more short and firm in. I'd say Nice beige or mushroom color for your ceiling. If I had a picture it would be easier to explain ... But think of a very light caramel vanilla color. Another thing to consider is the wheel "color" that shows the colors of other compliment. Good luck in your hunt for colors and remember what I said about light and dark colors. :)

Good for yo.
