How to select the paint color for your home Project Home It seems so simple and so easy when you watch a program of home improvement television. A home renovation project is underway and a decision is made to do some interior painting. Then, like magic, there is a beautiful new color on the walls of the room. Everyone is smiling, the room is superb, and Gosh, it took only a few seconds for the transformation!
Things like this only happen on TV or other people, not to you. I know, my life is never that simple or easy, either. However, in choosing a paint color for an interior room or space in your home should not be a painful process. There are some steps you can take to help you make the right decision when choosing a wall color and, therefore, become one of those happy, smiling when the project is completed.
There are two decisions you have to do before going to the paint store to pick up color samples. First, determine the scope of your project, which means that you must decide if you paint a room, two rooms and a corridor across the Great House, and so on. It seems simple enough to be obvious, but do not assume, go ahead and make the decision mentally or write in a notebook.
The second part of this question is: Does your space have defined "starting and stopping points? To answer this question, go to the area and literally watch all the walls in question. You want to make sure you do not have a wall that flow into another space which is outside the scope of your project. For example, I saw a kitchen corner / of a house where the kitchen walls were painted a different color than the corner. That's fine, except that the owner has to stop with a color in the middle of the wall above the cabinets, so there was definitely something unfinished about the appearance of the area! Do not make this mistake. Look carefully at each wall in the region, also considering any fascia or soffit you may have.
The other decision, you should do is the budget. How much money do you want, or are you able, to spend on decorating project painting? Again, it seems so simple. But before you go and buy paint, you must decide:
1. What brand of paint I use? Some brands and types of paint are more expensive than others. Is this your big project area? Then you'll need more paint. If you could be covering a dark paint with a lighter color, you will need two coats of paint and perhaps a primer.
2. Who will do the painting? If you engage in the project, it is logical to obtain estimates before spending money.
3. How many colors of paint will be used in the project? Will you have an accent wall or an area? Will you finish it all wrong space? Try to determine an overall plan at this point.
Once you have decided on the scope of the project and a realistic budget, it is time to think about the actual paint colors. Here are some suggestions for you to consider when choosing a wall color.
How do you want to change the look of the room or space? Want to add some drama to the region? Watch some shades deeper or brighter colors. However, a more subtle and could be more neutral in your comfort zone design. In this case, keep the colors neutral consider one of the hundreds of shades of white broken. Remember that the chip of paint is a tiny, tiny bit of color. It seems more intense when you put on your walls very large. You can start with a shade that is less intense on the chip of paint and test how it appears on the walls. We will talk more about that shortly.
Will you work with an existing color in the region or introduce a new color? If you are considering a new color and different, make sure it will improve the color scheme that is currently in the room. Furniture.
