The hiring of an art student to paint a mural in the nursery? Hello,
We're painting the nursery and were planning to ask an art student from our local college to paint a mural on his wall safari theme. We will make the base layer ourselves.
How would an adequate supply? Would we be required to provide the paint?
Thank you for the advice you can give!
Right from the start - before you write anything else (- and without getting pats on the back )......
"I am a professional painter and I am concerned, referred to as a muralist and artist EXPERT faux finish. (The "real" stuff - not wiping!)
Basic Info;
- Without a doubt, I always insist on the walls and prepare them by BASE COAT me. (The reason I will not allow any possibility of unhappy compromise my work of art. "- And so, I take full responsibility for any wall I'm going to work. In this way, I am solely responsible for the quality of my finished project.)
"I am convinced that if you plan to hire" a student or a particular student - You've seen pictures or examples of previous work and that you have chosen a student who you think is talented and gifted.
- As such, you should be prepared to pay the student for their talent. $ 50.00 per hour is a reasonable price.
However, if you are interested to be uprooted -
Ask students to give you a fixed price for the project. (Then, when the project is completed and you are very happy to be the result - give the student a bonus of 20%. - Students in art, regardless of their immense talent, generally underestimate their own gift. Think you as a grateful and generous benefactor encourage the talents of a sign of monetary recognition.
Providing paint?
A student is usually no extra money, nor did they account for a paint store. - Let the student "gives you a list" of paint they need and then buy yourself.
Do you remember what it was like to be a starving student - just try to do it yourself and take a break?
Enough said.
muralist professional expertise and faux finish painter (20yrs)
I suggest you contact the department chair of art directly, say what you're interested in and ask for advice - what would be the best student, what compensation should be, painting, etc.
two good friends to me a fountain mural, mural Hummer, a mural of mountains (with 3 little dragons) and a fresco of the castle. They took about two weeks to do so and we ended up paying $ 500. together all the paintings were not cheap looking. They are beautiful and worth the money.
and it's not as if we were their first costomers. they had painted in their own room and offices and make these before I asked.
Oh, and we paid for the painting and the projector as well. whoch totaled approximately $ 100
you should talk with the person you wish to paint the mural and negotiate a price with them.
hope it helps!
I paint murals and started as a student. A student is an excellent way to do the job well done and a good price because they are not professional nor practicing professional prices. You can go into a store like Michaels Art where they give lessons and watch the classes and find someone that suits your style. You do not have to go to a college where it would cost you more. A large portion of students are excellent, but art is not their career and will most likely negotiate a good price with you. If you have a budgeted amount, just tell them what you can afford and see if they can do about it. This would be a starting point. They probably want to bring their own paints and brushes, but the cost will be included in the price.
