Art PlatesHow to hang your canvas art

This article gives a short walk through the three most popular ways to hang Canvas Art on your wall. Here, all relatively cheap and easy to find.

Mirror Plates

Mirror plates are a simple but effective way to hang your art on canvas. As you can see from the pictures above, you can attach the mirror plates so they either get on the inside or outside and there are advantages and disadvantages of both methods.

Installation inside means you do not see the ice patches, but also means that instead of screwing the plate to the wall and the canvas, you just drop the canvas on the screws so there is no 100% stable.

Mounting on the outside has the opposite effect. You can see the mirror plate (which is not for all tastes), but because you can secure the canvas to the wall of his common route to take.

Mirror plates are very cheap (Wicks in the UK sells a package of 8 for 89p) and easy to get hold of which makes them more popular method to hang a canvas .

Wire

One of the oldest way to block the trick is to simply attach a piece of thread tight to the rear frame of the canvas and simply drop the thread on a screw out slightly from the wall. Very cheap (yarn pence) and easy to do the wire method has its points higher, but the biggest drawback is the movement available to the canvas. You will always straighten your canvas and I recommend you mirror plates to conquer this.

3M Command Strip

For months, we have put the 3M Command Strip system to the test and must admit have been very impressed by the system. The simple to use hooks and patches of glue hanging in seconds and last for ages. The best part of these hooks is when you come to remove the peel away the adhesive strip, leaving marks on the walls which makes them perfect for people living in rented accommodation.

Conclusion

There are several ways to hang a painting, but after having used all the methods above, I personally recommend the use of control strips. It is easy to implement (no drilling) and easy to get. Go for the bathroom 3 kg hooks to ensure no accidents on your canvas. (About £ 3 for 2)
