What are the career opportunities for me if I got a BA in visual arts?

I am sure you must have a master's degree or considerable experience to teach at the college level.

I know of two types of jobs studio artist, entrepreneurs, who make a living by selling / developing their art (eg artists through galleries, studios / manufacturers of furniture, mural, etc.) and servers who work their art on the side.

Your accent will make a big difference. If your goal is to paint, you're choices are pretty much painting, murals, or possibly illustrating illustration may well be an emphasis by itself. Artists Studio furniture can make furniture and interiors. Sculptors can do anything ironwork lighting installations.
