Antifouling Paint

Posted on March 30, 2010.
Antifouling PaintHow do I go about painting on freshly applied antifouling paint?

Some say wetsand low, add primer coat on top of this painting, then, some say simply apply the primer and antifouling paint while some say apply primer, then paint resand in your choice of color - What you say?

You do not want to paint antifouling paint with regular paint! It will defeat the very purpose of the use of antifouling paints. The bottom of the boat alone, should be covered in antifouling, just above the waterline.
I recommend using Abblative antifouling paint, which is itself slowly during the navigation season, leaving a new layer, and the year to reduce accumulated year after year.

It depends on what paint you have there now. Most of the time pressure wash with a light sanding done the work for the preparation work. Then repaint. Bottom paint is expensive, and painting, then use the rest near the waterline.

Do not apply another proof paint == paint like there will not be anti == paint is designed to slowly remove self Sand> bare fiberglass and paint> will not be an easy job and where a shirt and that anti Resperator = p is very toxic>>>

Since the end of the antifouling paint is to maintain marine animals and plants to grow on the hull, I think you do not want to hide and does not apply to the line just above the water, then the regular use of marine paint above. In addition, the painting above it must bear the sun and weather much more than the anit-fouling paint

What type of paint and why do you give him a second coat of antifouling paint, or if you just want regular paint on it for some reason?

I do not want the sand painting toxic! Fresh paint on your boat anti-fouling should be good to go. What's wrong with that? It is a good paint and it will be out of storage time in water.
