Anti Damp Paint

Please do not give me advice about curing the cause, I'm in rented accommodation. The bathroom, which is a basement, has rising damp. I removed all the paint and plaster loose flaky. I have some waterproofing paint, but am not sure whether to repair the plaster coating before or after damp proof. If before, how long should I wait for the plaster to dry? If, after the plaster will be the key to the proof of the wet paint OK? Be grateful for any advice here.

personally i wouldnt waste my time painting what is called the paintings on the wall waterproof, they do not work, at best, they simply push the moisture to other areas.

chances are that you do not have rising damp, if your basement, then in one of its probley going to be wet penertrating. Unfortunately, there are no quick fixes to these problems that work well.

I'll give you a tip on a quick fix that can last from six months to a maximum per year.

remove the top coat of plaster (top coat), this should get you back on the sand and make cement. Mix a little ronnerfix (SBR) with neat cement to make a slurry, paint 2 or 3 layers of mud during the visit and make good multifinish.

you can get from merchants ronnerfix most manufacturers around £ 30 for 5 liters.

If you use the anti-wet paint, then i wouldnt remove the plaster id just paint over the area of defection, if you remove the plaster that you may have trouble getting the new adhear plaster wall because the paint.
