Any suggestions for sealing acrylic paint on glass? I have little candle for my boyfriend and some friends who have their letters on Mutal fraternity, Im using acrylic paint on glass. Any suggestions on the tip on how to seal the acrylic paint from chipping on the glass or to prevent detachment during the washing. The candle can double in a small glass. Thank you in advance.
Fraternity boys and painted glass? I can almost guarantee these paints will not last! LOL What about vinyl stickers? http://www.woodlandmanufacturing.com/gre ...
I do not know to what extent they would do well lanterns.
Have you thought about using etching cream? It will permanently etch your glasses and you can find what you need in all craft stores, probably near the driveway of the painting.
Here's how: http://www.ehow.com/how_8589_etch-glass. ...
You can buy a stencil, or use a police computer to make your own stencil plastic (also at the craft store)

If you're really put on the paint, this site has a ton of useful information. http://www.plaidonline.com/GlassPainting ...
You must use a spray acrylic or polyurethane sealer. Using a spray will prevent the acrylic from reliquifying and burrs. Objects such as this must be carefully washed by hand with a soft sponge only. There is nothing you can do to make this a permanent decoration. More it is used and / or washed, the sooner it will dissipate.
